Kazakh Ambassador conveys a message from Kazakh President to the Grand Imam
Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Arman Isagaliev, the Kazakh Ambassador to Egypt at Al-Azhar headquarters.
The Grand Imam said that Al-Azhar cherishes its relationship with the countries of Central Asia, and appreciates the keenness of these countries to benefit from Al-Azhar’s moderate approach, and to send their children to study at Al-Azhar, believing in the importance of its message in enhancing brotherhood among people and confronting extremist or racist discourse. HE stressed that Al-Azhar spares no effort to disseminate the tolerance of Islam, care for students and qualify them to protect the security and stability of societies.
The Kazakh Ambassador, for his part, conveyed the greetings of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the current President of Kazakhstan, and President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the former President, to the Grand Imam for his prominent role in enhancing world peace.
He praised the role of Al-Azhar in promoting the moderation of Islam and thanked the Grand Imam for training Muslim students from Kazakhstan by hosting them at Al-Azhar University and Al-Azhar International Academy for Training Imams, Preachers and Fatwa Researchers, qualifying and immunizing them with Al-Azhar’s moderate approach.
Ambassador Arman Isagaliev explained that Kazakhstan is preparing to launch the “Encyclopedia of Imam Al-Farabi’s Works” next year during a global conference, and is preparing to make a documentary about his scientific journey in four countries: Syria, Iraq, Kazakhstan and Egypt, the places that witnessed Imam Al-Farabi’s academic career and where he spent most of his life.
