President El-Sisi calls Al-Azhar Grand Imam to check on his health; Grand Imam expresses deep gratitude
His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt, made a telephone call to His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb to check on his health condition, following the illness that has afflicted His Eminence during the past weeks, wishing him a full recovery and abundant health and wellness.
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar expressed his deep gratitude and sincere appreciation to His Excellency the President for his generous initiative and his personal concern for his health. He stressed that this noble humanitarian gesture reflects His Excellency’s noble character and high regard for national religious institutions and their symbols.
The Grand Imam praised the continued support given by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the message of Al-Azhar and its scholars in consolidating the values of moderation and centrism. He prayed to Allah Almighty to protect Egypt and its leaders, and to grant President El-Sisi success in what is best for the country and its people, and that Egypt may continue its historical and pioneering role in supporting security and stability, and consolidating the foundations of peace at the regional and international levels.
