Al-Azhar Grand Imam makes a phone call to King of Bahrain to affirm Al-Azhar's solidarity with Bahrain, its government, and people
His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb made a telephone call today, Tuesday, to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, during which he expressed Al-Azhar’s solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain, and its rejection of any infringement on the sovereignty of countries or any threat to the security of their people.
His Eminence stressed that the current stage calls for concerted Arab and Islamic efforts to maintain stability, preserve the unity of homelands, and prioritize the voice of reason and wisdom to overcome crises and spare the region further tension and conflicts. He prayed to Allah Almighty to protect the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people, and to grant our country and the entire world security, safety, peace and stability.
His Majesty the King of Bahrain expressed his appreciation for this gracious and brotherly gesture from the Grand Imam, and his appreciation for his and Al-Azhar's supportive stances towards peace. His Majesty affirmed his country's commitment to everything that would support regional and international stability.
