His Eminence Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, held a phone call with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, during which he expressed his condemnation of the Iranian attacks on the UAE and a number of sister Arab countries, noting that such attacks constitute a violation of state sovereignty and the principles of good neighborliness.

For his part, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed his appreciation and gratitude for this kind fraternal gesture from the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar. During the call, both sides emphasized the need for restraint, the immediate cessation of the rapidly escalating military tensions in the region, and resorting to dialogue and political solutions to address various issues, in order to prevent further deterioration of security and stability in the region.
