His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, extends his sincere congratulations and best wishes to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian people, and the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of the new Hijri year, praying to Allah Almighty—Glory be to Him—to make it a year of goodness, blessing, security, and safety for all of humanity.

On this blessed occasion, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar calls for drawing inspiration from the values of steadfastness, determination, and unwavering adherence to the truth, as well as upholding the sanctity of the homeland in Islam. He emphasizes that the Prophetic Hijrah (Migration) stands as a pivotal lesson in Islamic history and the biography of the Messenger of Islam (PBUH). It has instilled in the consciousness of Muslims the importance of emulating the Prophet’s example—specifically his profound trust and reliance on Allah Almighty, his endurance of hardships for the sake of his mission, and his setting of the finest examples of peaceful coexistence with those who did not believe in him.

His Eminence also calls upon the entire Islamic Ummah to adhere to the path of moderation and balance, to reject the causes of division and discord, and to work towards strengthening Islamic unity and mutual cooperation among its members—thereby achieving peace, prosperity, and progress for its peoples. He prays to Allah Almighty to protect our Arab and Islamic Ummah, to lift the prevailing distress, to unite its ranks and harmonize its voice, and to guide world leaders to uphold the values of truth, justice, and equality among all people.
