In a humanitarian gesture, Al-Azhar GI halts institute inauguration to comfort Luxor child and listen to his poem
Al-Azhar Grand Imam comforts a Luxorian child at the opening of the Mohamed Atayto Institute and asks the attendees to stop the opening ceremony to listen to the child’s poem.
In a kind gesture, His Eminence Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Al-Azhar Grand Imam (GI), was keen to comfort a Luxorian child and bring joy and happiness to his heart when he found him crying next to the platform where the events were being held. His Eminence asked to bring him to find out the reason for his crying, and the child informed him that his scheduled segment dedicated to reciting a poem had been cancelled due to the short time of the institute’s inauguration celebration.
Immediately, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar asked the attendees to stop the opening ceremony to listen to the child who recited his poem about the virtues and chivalry of the people of Upper Egypt. His Eminence was keen to encourage him and confirm his excellence in reciting poetry and to take a commemorative photo with him. He also asked the attendees, especially the leaders of Al-Azhar and the institute’s officials, not to belittle the feelings of the students and to give them the full opportunity to express themselves and show their talents, and to encourage them to invest in these talents and develop them.
