Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, extends his sincere condolences and deep sympathy to the Egyptian people and the families of the victims of the Toukh train accident in Qalyubia governorate, which occurred this evening, Sunday. In a post by His Eminence on his two official pages on the social networking sites, Facebook and Twitter, he wrote: 

With a heart wracked by sadness and pain, but with contentment with the decree of Allah, I offer my condolences to myself, to the Egyptian people, and to the families of the victims of the Toukh train accident. I pray to Allah Almighty to bless the victims with His infinite mercy and forgiveness, and grant the injured a speedy recovery. 

“Surely, we belong to Allah, and surely to Him we are returning.”
