The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar: It is difficult for us to celebrate Eid while our brothers in Gaza are suffering under the brutal occupation machine.

His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb extends his most sincere congratulations and blessings to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt, and his brothers the kings, presidents and princes, and to the honorable Egyptian people, and the Arab and Islamic nations, on Eid Al-Fitr. He asked Allah Almighty to bring this occasion back to the nation with goodness, blessings and prosperity, and to perpetuate the blessings of security, peace and stability for our nation.

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar calls on Muslims around the world not to forget their oppressed brothers and sisters in Palestine, Sudan, the Rohingya Muslims, and all the oppressed around the world. He called on them to include our brothers and sisters in Gaza in their prayers and give them part of their zakah, and to ask Allah to grant them victory over their enemy, to grant them steadfastness, and to preserve their land and homeland.
