His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, extended his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the Republic of Turkey, its leadership and people, for the victims of the tragic accident that occurred yesterday, Tuesday, when a military cargo plane crashed, resulting in a number of casualties. 

The Grand Imam expresses his heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the victims, praying to Almighty Allah to have mercy on the deceased, to grant them His abundant forgiveness, and to grant their families and loved ones patience and solace. “Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.”
