During the celebration of the Prophet’s birth anniversary, the Grand Imam: “We do not doubt for a moment that Islam, the Qur’an, and Muhammad (pbuh) are a divine light that guide humanity’s path”.
The Grand Imam averred, “As we celebrate the birth anniversary of Muhammad (pbuh) today, we do not only commemorate a person who has reached the zenith of morality and perfection. Rather, we celebrate the effusion of divine light to the entire humanity in the form of a seal divine message crowning all the previous divine messages. The Seal Prophet (pbuh) was entrusted to convey this message and to guide the nation through it. Accordingly, he (pbuh) properly conveyed the message and set the humanity’s foot on the path of truth, goodness, and grace”. In this speech commemorating the birth anniversary of the Prophet (pbuh), in the presence of Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Grand Imam also asserted, “We, Muslims, do not doubt for a moment that Islam, the Qur’an, and Muhammad (pbuh) are a divine light that guides humanity’s path in its quest for happiness in this life and the life to come. Such light is safeguarded by Allah, through His Divine Will and Promise. The Grand Imam maintained that the light of Muhammad (pbuh), as stipulated in the Qur’an, runs through our veins, and resides in our hearts, and that were it not for the message sent down to him by Almighty Allah, humanity would have lapsed in utter darkness and manifest aberration, as was the case before the revelation. The Qur’an explicitly states that Muhammad (pbuh) is the light with which Allah Almighty dispels darkness and injustice: “There certainly has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book” (Qur’an 5: 15) Here, Muhammad is the light who has come with the Qur’an. Besides, the Almighty describes Muhammad (pbuh) as a beacon of light, when He says, “O Prophet! We have sent you as a witness, a deliverer of good news, a warner, a caller to Allah by His command, and a beacon of light.” (Qur’an 33: 45-46) Likewise, Muhammad (pbuh) is the mercy gifted to humanity, the believers and the unbelievers alike. Almighty Allah addresses him saying, “We have sent you only as a mercy for the whole world.”(Qur’an 21: 107) The Prophet (pbuh) said about himself, “I’ am indeed a gifted mercy.”
