His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb extends his sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, the government of Bahrain, and its people on the occasion of Bahrain's winning of a non-permanent seat in the Security Council for the year 2026 - 2027.

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar affirmed that this award reflects the efforts led by Bahrain to promote global peace and spread the values of dialogue, tolerance, coexistence, and peace. He expressed his hope that the Kingdom of Bahrain's election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council will contribute to strengthening the Arab and Islamic stance on various global issues, particularly the Palestinian cause and the aggression against Gaza, and will truly express the voice of the nation in confronting contemporary challenges.
